Patti Smith Quartet Live at King John’s Castle, Limerick

Patti Smith Quartet will make their debut Limerick performance at the historic King John’s Castle on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, in what promises to be one of her most intimate shows of 2026. The event is presented by Seoda Shows and Dolan’s in association with Foggy Notions.

Born in Chicago and raised in New Jersey, Patti Smith became a central figure in New York’s 1970s arts and music scene. Her groundbreaking 1975 debut album Horses is widely regarded as one of the most influential records of its era and is preserved in the National Recording Registry. Smith was later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

Across her celebrated career she has released acclaimed albums including Radio Ethiopia, Easter — featuring the classic Because the Night co-written with Bruce Springsteen — and Dream of Life, which includes the iconic People Have the Power.

Beyond music, Smith is also an acclaimed writer. Her memoir Just Kids, documenting her friendship with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, won the National Book Award in 2010. Other works include M Train, Year of the Monkey and A Book of Days. Her latest release, Bread of Angels: A Memoir, continues her celebrated literary career.

Renowned for the emotional power and spontaneity of her performances, this special concert at King John’s Castle will be a rare opportunity to experience one of the most influential artists of the past five decades in a spectacular historic setting.
